10 January 2025  One page for each person on the site – a sort of post
Alan –  the easiest way I think and therefore probably the cheapest is for us to set up a submission form and what will happen is they will they don’t need to log in. They will just go to a page which would be a hidden URL or it could be open and there’ll be a form. They just fill in their name, their email, and then they can copy and paste their writing into a into a text area. Perhaps we can have another field for any additional comments that they want to have . They can submit that and then what will happen is that will go automatically into a post which you can then approve and then once it’s approved it will appear as a normal post on the site and then we could switch on comments so that other people could comment on it.
Brian – if I start a new page,  a new post is it like the my diary environment that people can automatically have the comments make comments.
Alan –  we can just set it so the comments can be turned on you know sort of cart Blanche or turned off for specific ones
Brian – I’m inclined to do that when I’m spending my money and time as we go. I think stage one is to see how many people actually turn up,  because if you’ve got one or two people I can do that manually.
if we get more than I will see it and then we can say that we need a system
Alan –  so the other option would be that the people do register so they register as authors on the website and that will then give them the ability to create a post, a direct post which can either be published or pending for you to approve it and then once it is published they will be able to log in any time,  upload another post or edit a previous one. Obviously they’ll only be able to do it to their own posts. That’s a bit more complex

When I have saved a page, or think I’ve saved to page on DIVI if informs me that there is unsaved material and do I want to restore it?  I cannot find what I have not saved.
My feeling at the moment is that I should create a parallel system for those who cannot attend in person and use this to run a zoom group. I’m not saying we have anything to do at this stage but I’m just writing down things as they pop into my mind.

I only want active and commenting participants who have come in person to at least one meeting. This is a local group primarily. I think a normal WP comments page will be adequate in the first instance. While our numbers are small this  format should work for everybody and we will see how much the flower blooms.   subscribers  will be able to read everything and receive news letters. Members could be made editors or contributors and  offer material which could be commented on by other members. I think that will do for now
By default, a new page is created using DIVI. Can I ‘un-divi’ a particular page?
Why do I so often get a note saying that there is unsaved material on a page when I have saved it?
